After Summer in the City and the 161st Cass County Fair, downtown Dowagiac will continue to offer summer entertainment with the second-to-last concert in the Beckwith Park Summer Concert Series.
The string of concerts, which began June 7 after the first concert rained out, has featured different styles of music. Thursday evening’s set will be provided by a Kalamazoo blues band, the Out of Favor Boys. The blend of funky blues features band members “D-Day” Danny Ouellette, “Mighty” Mike Porter, “T-Bone” Tony Sproul, Joel “The Kid” Krauss and Timmy “Butterknuttz” Brouhard.
The band, which formed in 2003, performs around the state and in Indiana. With three CDs already released, the band is working on a fourth studio album with all original material from the band.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Beckwith Park in downtown Dowagiac. The event is free and open to the public. Patrons are asked to bring seating.
