The Beckwith Park Summer Concert Series in downtown Dowagiac will welcome bluegrass band Schlitz Creek at 7:30  tonight.

The series, which is underwritten by Huntington Bank, has brought in several musicians and performers from different genres of music. Schlitz Creek, comprised of five members from Kalamazoo, claims to bring bluegrass to area listeners the way it should be played. With a mix of familiar bluegrass picking and family-friendly humor, the five men will take the gazebo stage to bring tunes to sidewalk music lovers.

Schlitz Creek includes Ike Smith on the fiddle, Nick Deaton on banjo, Dave Dekema on Martin guitar, John Speeter on mandolin and Nick Griffith on upright bass.

The Beckwith Park Summer Concert Series is free and open to the public.

Patrons are asked to bring seating.
