Adele Mae Kaiser Archer, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at her home.
Adele was born in Benton Harbor on Jan. 30, 1934, to Wells and Helen Kaiser.
Adele went to Eau Claire High School. She was united in matrimony to Virgil Archer at her parents’ home in Eau Claire on May 9, 1952.
Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Virgil preceded her in death on July 9, 2011.
Adele was a wonderful homemaker and loved to cook and bake. For many years she and Virgil farmed and owned various pets, goats, ponies and farm animals. She loved raising fancy chickens. She enjoyed shopping with her friends, gardening and feeding and watching the birds and hummingbirds.
Surviving Adele are her sister, Kay Kaiser Janke (Elden); special nieces, Sheryl Janke; Suzanne Griffith (John); Kristina and Kelsey Griffith.
Special nephews, Dennis (Mary) Booth, Keith (Joan) Morris; Charles (Charmile) Archer; Mike (Cecilia) Booth. Special niece, Diana (Chas) Miller.
Special friends: Rosemary Weaver and Loretta Richardson and many other relatives and friends.
Her parents, Wells and Helen Kaiser, and sister, Carole Lu Kaiser, preceded her in death.
Memorials can be sent to the Eau Claire Veterans Support Group in Eau Claire, the Berrien County Youth Fair or to the donor’s choice.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the VFW 472 E. Division St., Dowagiac at 5:30 p.m. July 14.
