Potawatomi Zoo opens for season

South Bend

South Bend’s Potawatomi Zoo opens for the 2012 season. Visit the popular river otters exhibit, the petting zoo and other attractions on 23 acres. A butterflies exhibit will open Memorial Day weekend. Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for kids 3-14 and seniors 62 and over; and free for kids 2 and under. Visit www.potawatomizoo.org.

Easter egg hunt

Noon Saturday

Riverfront Park, Niles

The Berrien County Civitan Club will host its annual Easter egg hunt. Age groups are 2; 3-4; 5-7; and 8-10. One egg in each age group will have a special prize. No adults allowed in the egg area. Geocaching trail challenge

Dyngus Day celebration

5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday

St. Pius X Church, Granger

Celebrate all things Polish at the Dyngus Day celebration at St. Pius X. Get your fix of a Polish meal — sausage, cabbage and hard-boiled eggs — along with a live polka band. Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for children younger than18; and free for children younger than 2.

Wine 101

7 to 9 p.m. April 10

Skip’s Restaurant, New Buffalo

Talk wine like a true “wino” after the “Wine 101” class in New Buffalo, hosted by Lake Michigan College. From red to white wines, the history of winemaking and the winemaking regions worldwide, you’ll be versed enough to make conversation at the next wine tasting you attend. Cost is $30.
