Redderick Mike Harris, 85, of Niles, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at West Woods of Niles following an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Plant City, Fla., to Redrick Mike and Nina Pearl (Cooke) Harris. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne Division in the U.S. Army.

On Jan. 13, 1952, in Chicago, he married the former Anne Krpalek, who survives.

Mike was employed with the IBEW Local 134, retiring in 1985 after 25 years of service.

Surviving along with his wife, Anne, are their children, son Ronn Harris, of Elmhurst, Ill., daughters, Deborah Frey, of Berrien Springs, and Michel McGervey, of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Joey (Sarah) Frey, of Berrien Springs; and sister, Tommie Carlier, of West Chester, Pa.

Funeral services will be private.

Contributions in memory of Redderick Mike Harris may be made to Pioneer Memorial Church at Andrews University, Berrien Springs.
