Buchanan to install electric charging station

Buchanan’s electric charging station should be up and running this week.
City Manager Bill Marx said the station was originally planned to be installed at a parking island near the Buchanan Common area, but security concerns caused the city to elect to place it in front of the police department.
The installation of the $13,500 station was delayed when the city learned it would cost $9,000 to have it installed. Marx said he was able to have a local electrician do it for a “nominal cost.”
The charging station was almost completely funded by grants.
