Marc Bailey, son of Phillip Bailey and Kim Worley of Niles, stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky., has been promoted to E4 and squad leader. He will be taking college courses on computer science.

Bailey graduated from Niles High School in May 2009. He entered the Army on Sept. 18, 2009. He served three months in combat in Afghanistan from Jan. 1. to April 1, 2011.

He will reenlist on Jan. 1, 2013, for another three years.

Bailey was home on leave from Dec. 23 to Jan. 8 for Christmas vacation. He enjoyed being with his family and friends for the holidays: 3-year-old daughter, Brylin Bailey; sisters, Jessica Bailey of Michigan City, Ind., and Naomi Bailey of Niles; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Green of Niles and Caroline Andersen of Niles.

Bailey has three cousins from Union City, Mich., in the military.
