First Presbyterian Church, 115 West Front St. in Buchanan, will hold a prayer service for healing at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5.

During the service, time will be given for people to come forward for individual prayer for themselves, family members and friends.

“In this day and age, we know God heals through many means: medication, surgery, therapy, and prayer,” Pastor Patricia Ramsden said.

“Incresingly, the role of prayer has become more and more accepted, and chaplains are now seen as a regular part of the medical team.

“In no way do we believe our service should take the place of a medical regimen.  But we do believe our prayers will play a part in the healing process in ways that are a part of the “mystery” of the faith.  Everyone is invited to take part in the Feb. 5 service,” Ramsden said.
