Dowagiac Public Safety Director Tom Atkinson captured the 2011-12 Daily News Football Forecaster championship.

Atkinson, who went a panel-best 27-8 in the bowl games, finished with an overall record of 126-39.

Michigan Senator John Proos, R-St. Joseph, finished second, one game back of Atkinson at 125-40. FOX 28’s Allison Hayes was third with a final record of 123-42 and Cassopolis Police Chief Frank Williams came in fourth at 122-43.

Dowagiac City Clerk Jim Snow and Daily News Sports Editor Scott Novak tied for fifth with identical marks of 120-45.
