Dear editor:

The Janet Francis Mary Kay Unit would like to send a huge thank you to the many individuals and businesses that helped to make this program an incredible success for the third year in a row! They were able to deliver Christmas gifts to each resident in the Cass County Medical Facility, Timbers in Dowagiac, Stone Lake Woods and Berrien County Medical Facility in Berrien Springs, totaling 290 gifts!

What a beautiful and special time of year to give some extra love to our elderly in the community. For those who are not familiar with this program it involves many in the community. Local individuals and businesses donate financially for the gifts, the local elementary children make homemade cards, and teenagers help to wrap the gifts. The consultants in the unit work side-by-side with these individuals to make it all happen.

For some of the residents it was the only visit and gift they received this year. How special it was to see their smiles, just knowing someone thought of them.

We just want to again say thank you and recognize those that made it possible!
