A broad array of works from a number of the best-known Michigan outsider artists fill the galleries of the South Haven Center for the Arts, 600 Phoenix St. in South Haven.
This exhibit explores the interest in self-taught artists as it continues to grow from remote areas of the rural deep south to the far reaches of the north. This art form has been shaping and shaking the American art world for the past 30 years, and, in the past decade and a half, many of the genres best have been discovered right here in Michigan.
The center’s hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
