Eddies fall to Bears

Undefeated St. Joseph outscored host Edwardsburg 13-4 in the second quarter en route to an easy 58-42 non-conference girls basketball victory Tuesday night.
Trailing just 13-11 after one quarter, the Eddies were held to just four points in the second period as the Bears assumed control of the game.
Edwardsburg did outscore St. Joseph 27-22 in the second half, but could not overcome the first half deficit.
The Bears took a 45-26 advantage to the final quarter.
Christina Valentine and Erika Priebe both scored 13 points to lead St. Joseph.
Ashley Streb and Mariah Murphy also scored 13 points each for the Eddies to tie for game-high honors. Sarah D’Amico added seven points.

COLOMA – Sarah D’Amico, Ashley Streb and Brooke Portwood scored all but three of Edwardsburg’s points Friday night in the Eddies’ 46-39 Lakeland Conference girls’ basketball win.
D’Amico finished with 17 points, Streb 15 and Portwood 11 as the Eddies remained undefeated in league play (3-0) and improved their overall mark to 3-2.
Edwardsburg grabbed a 9-6 lead after one quarter and held a slim 18-16 advantage at halftime. The Eddies opened up a four-point (30-26) lead heading into the final quarter.
Edwardsburg outscored Coloma 16-13 in the fourth quarter.
Amanda Swihart was the lone Comet to reach double figures as she finished with 14 points.
