Doris I. Burger, 90, of White Street, Niles, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at West Woods of Niles following an extended illness.

She was born June 1, 1921, in Iowa to Alvin Hamrick and Harriet Hamrick. She was a lifetime area resident. She was the former owner of Four Flags Beauty Salon in Niles. At one time, Doris operated four beauty salons at once.

She was married May 3, 1952, in Niles to Arthur Dennis Burger. He died April 30, 2011.

She is survived by her son, Robert L. (Linda) Bauer of Niles; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rob Hamrick of Osceola, Ind. and Keith Hamrick of Niles; two sisters, Elma Gentry of Niles and Arlene Wengenka of Watervliet.

The family will gather privately for services.

There will be no visitation.
