United Way amazing

Dear editor,
I am writing to share my experience with an event I recently participated in for the United Way.
“Day of Action for Seniors” is an event put on by the amazing people at the United Way to help local seniors prepare their homes for the upcoming winter. Myself along with three other employees of the Kemner Iott Agency traveled to three homes in the Cassopolis area. Our duties included raking and bagging leaves, as well as putting plastic on windows.
As always, the event was extremely well-organized; we met in the morning for a meeting to outline our entire day, and were provided with all of the necessary supplies to complete the tasks at hand.
The United Way made sure to emphasize the importance of making each resident feel comfortable, and to take care of all of their needs. I’m always amazed at how caring and giving these people are!
The residents we helped that day, of course, were extremely appreciative of the help we were able to provide.
It was heart-warming to see the smiles on their faces as we left, knowing we had helped make their lives that much easier.
It’s not the first event I’ve participated in for the United Way, and it certainly won’t be the last.
They are dedicated to reaching out to help as many people as possible, and I’m forever grateful for their efforts.
Sincerely,
Kim Parsons, CISR
