Oscar Hall Jr. 89, of Niles, died Nov. 2, 2011, at Riveridge Manor in Niles.
He was born Nov. 5, 1921, in Sullivan County, Ind. to the late Oscar and Ruth Nash Hall, who preceded him in death.
He married Eva Mae Daggett on Sept. 25, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1997.
Oscar is survived by a son, Charles (Norma) Hall of Niles; two grandchildren, Thomas (Heather) Hall of Niles, Timothy (Tammy) Hall of St. Joseph; and great-grandchildren, Josiah, Sofia and Benjamin Hall.
A sister, Imogene Metzger, along with a brother, Howard Hall, a nephew and a niece also preceded him in death.
Oscar was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II who flew the C-47 Aircraft. He was a member of American Legion Post 51 Buchanan and Wesley United Methodist Church of Niles. Prior to his retirement he had worked for Herb Swartz Machine Company and Kennedy Motors.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Swem Chapel, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Edward Slate of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 51 of Buchanan.
