Sam Adams Elementary School students raised more than $10,000 for the Cassopolis PTO during its annual
Walk-A-Thon Oct. 7.
Students and classes who raised the most money were recognized with prizes during an assembly Friday afternoon in the gym.
All Sam Adams students received a sticky hands prize; some top fundraisers were also awarded homework passes or bracelets and pencils.
Kelly Gustafson’s fourth grade class raised the most with $1,196. One class in each grade will get a pizza party for its efforts.
The top individual fundraisers were Madison Suseland, first; Kendrick Keosacky, second; and Danny Young Jr., third.
The more than $10,000 total is an estimate of how much the PTO will receive after prizes were doled out.
Winners of Walk-A-Thon pizza parties:
Kindergarten — Mrs. Newland’s class (raised $310)
First grade — Mrs. Burns’ class (raised $509)
Second grade — Mrs. Mark’s class (raised $659.20)
Third grade — Mrs. Griffioen’s class (raised $814.75)
