Dean C. Adams, 74, of Frankfort, St. James, Fla., and formerly of Niles, died Oct. 20, 2011, at Munson Medical Center.
She was born in Chesaning on March 23, 1937, the daughter of Clifford and Irene Adams. On Aug. 25, 1956, Dean married LeAnn Ferris, who survives.
He is also survived by children, Steven A. Adams of Walworth, Wis., and Tammy (Darryl) Russell of Estero, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Susan Stancroft of Ludington.
During high school, Dean was an all-state basketball player. He graduated and received his master’s degree from Central Michigan University, where he was assistant coach for one year.
He also held the record for most points scored in a single basketball game.
He taught classes and coached basketball in Niles for many years.
A celebration of Dean’s life will take place in the summer of 2012.
