Please stop picking on our school

Dear Prejudiced Party Attacking Eastside School:
Why do you feel the need to bully a school that is loved by its community and loves all the children who enter it? What is in it for you, to spew baseless arguments and attempt to crush the spirit and very essence of what education is all about?
Where were you to see the outpouring of support and love from the community to make Eastside School a showcase for our community? Where were you during the planning and analysis phase of creating something from nothing? Where were you to debate the merits and risks of a new magnet school? I guess it isn’t surprising that you use the standard tactic of casting baseless statements to raise doubts to try to influence opinion. Quite the noble cause you have to bash a school or the people that reopened that school who spent thousands of volunteer hours to bring it back to life for the love of children.
Please come see the return on our investment with this school. Stand at the door and watch these kids come to class. Look at the potential this operating asset offers now that it’s open instead of closed. See for yourself the potential for long term growth versus a dead end black hole sucking the life out of a neighborhood. Please come see what you didn’t learn about trust, respect, responsibility and value to the community. Please come see a school that is full of adults and children who continue to volunteer to work together for all and not just for one. Come to our school and really learn what it means to be committed to helping others.
Education is not about making money; it’s about preparing our children and students for the future. It is a moral calling. It is not about the summers off or the shorter work day. It is because you are committed to the long hours working at school to prepare and support our children. It is not about being paid more. It is not about promoting an entitlement mentality.
Instead, it is about creating the absolute best environment for our children and their parents. It is about providing the best building, the best teachers, the best values and the best tools available. Competition and scorecards provide the metrics; good educators provide the results. We want you, the Prejudiced Party Attacking Eastside School, to understand that no matter what you do, our school will continue to teach children to support our community, our state and our nation. With your education and background, you have the potential to be an asset to the growth of this community, but because of a singular selfish agenda you choose to apply your talents towards supporting the mind-set of entitlement that doesn’t value continuous improvement.
Someday you will be too old to do your job or carry your useless banner of discontent. Your careless attitude will be humbled. When that happens you can take comfort to know that our school taught its children how to care and they will be the ones making the positive difference in our world.
