The Brandywine volleyball team beat the visiting Cassopolis in straight sets 25-21, 25-15, 25-15, in their final match of the regular season Wednesday night.
The Bobcats won the long rallies and crucial points consistently throughout the match and (in the case of the later two games) built insurmountable leads and played excellent defense to close out the Rangers.
Brandywine coach Carl Greulich praised his team’s teamwork and tenacity during the course of the match.
“I thought we controlled the match well defensively, I think our serving was right on, and I believe our setters did tremendous jobs putting their teammates in positions to score,” he said.
Juniors Mackenzie Shelton, Jessica Cooper and Ashley DeJonge all turned in great individual performances in the Bobcats’ victory.
Shelton led all players with 11 kills and 14 digs. Cooper added 10 kills and 10 assists. DeJonge rounded out the big three’s performance by contributing 15 assists and four aces.
The Bobcats will travel to Berrien Springs Saturday to participate in the Lakeland Conference tournament at 9 a.m.
