Pauline (Phillips) Macquire, 63, of Niles, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 in her home, following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born June 21, 1948 to the late Paul D. and Opal L. (Reeves) Canady in Batesville, Ark., and has lived in Niles for the last 27 years, coming from Mishawaka, Ind.
Pauline graduated from Penn High School in 1966.
Mrs. Macquire was employed by Lakeland Medical Center in Berrien Center, where she has worked as a certified pharmacy technician since 1983.
Pauline loved hummingbirds, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family —especially her grandchildren.
On May 15, 1968, as Pauline Canady, she married Garald L. Phillips in Mishawaka. He died Sept. 29, 1998. As Pauline Phillips, she then married James J. Macquire on May 19, 2002 in Berrien Springs.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Macquire of Niles; daughters, Laura (Timothy) Munday of Three Oaks; Pam Phillips of Lakesid; Ellen (Jeremy) Wozniak of New Carlisle, Ind.; stepson, Jerry Macquire of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 South Filbert St., New Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, New Carlisle.
Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.
