Gordy and Janet Gwilt

Gordy and Janet Gwilt of Dowagiac recently celebrated 60 years of marriage at an anniversary party with their family.
The party was hosted by their children and grandchildren and held at Timberline Inn.
On Oct. 5, 1951, Miss Janet Fox became the bride of Gordon Gwilt in a double-ring ceremony held in the chapel of the First Methodist Church, Kalamazoo.
Gordy and Janet have raised nine children including: Sally and her husband Terry Mathews, Ed and his wife Juanita Gwilt, Julie and her husband Larry Hewitt, Peggy and her husband Bruce Willis, Mimi and her husband Cort Otterbein, Nancy and her husband Rob Northrop, Tom and his wife Sue Gwilt, Tony and his wife Jennifer Gwilt and finally, Joe.
They also have 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Gwilts owned and operated Gwilt’s Paint Shop for many years.
They retired in 1995 and moved out to their present home on the Mill Pond.
They are making many memories and enjoying life to its fullest doing all the things they love best — and may they live happily ever after.
