Emil C. Barg, 76, of 1760 Dayton Rd., Buchanan, died at 3:23 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical

Center in St. Joseph of natural causes.
He was born May 9, 1935 in Chicago and lived in Buchanan since 1959. He was employed in the sheriff’s reserves of Berrien County and was a mechanical engineer.
He married Shirley Ann (McCain) Barg on July 3, 1963. She preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2011.
Emil was also preceded in death by his parents, Emil Sr. and Marge Barg.
He is survived by his sons, Carl Barg of Madison, Wis., Gary (Chris) Moore of Coloma, Rick (Lou Ann) Moore of Stevensville and Steve Moore of Kalamazoo; sister, Jean (Richard) Wittenberg of Florida; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Pastor Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church in Niles officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friay, Oct. 7 at the funeral home.
