David and Jodi Ferenczi family of Niles is welcoming a new “son” for the 2011 academic year — Breno Salto Moreira, a Youth For Understanding USA (YFU) exchange student from Brazil. Moreira will attend Brandywine High School in Niles.
Eager to join his host family and become immersed in the Niles community, Moreira will live as a true member of the Ferenzci family — participating in social activities and events, vacations and daily household chores. In turn, he will also share the culture and customs of Brazil with his host family, friends and fellow classmates.
More than 2,000 American families open their homes and hearts to YFU international students each year. With 65 offices around the globe, Youth For Understanding is one of the world’s oldest, largest and most respected international exchange programs. Since 1951, YFU has facilitated more than 240,000 student exchanges across the globe in its mission to prepare young people for the responsibilities and opportunities in a changing, interdependent world.
