Kim Forsey, executive director of the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southwestern Michigan, will host a new “Love and Logic” series beginning Monday, Oct. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Benton Harbor Main office, 1850 Colfax Ave.
Diane Kopp, a Samaritan Counseling Center therapist, is offering this seven-part training program designed by the Love and Logic Institute, Inc., which claims to be America’s most practical and entertaining parent training and is designed to teach practical skills that can be used immediately.
Kopp offers this class several times a year at the Samaritan Counseling Center’s satellite locations: Wesley United Methodist Church in Niles; First Congregational Church and Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph; First Congregational Church in South Haven; Stevensville United Methodist Church in Stevensville; and soon will be adding a class at its newest satellite office, the Journey Lutheran Church of Harbor Country in New Buffalo.
The program will run every week for seven weeks. Participants must bring a brown bag dinner. The cost is $50 for two parents (or a parent and a caregiver) for the entire course and includes a valuable workbook.
This class will cater to those parents and guardians who need child care during the evening. In partnership with a class at Andrews University, child care will be provided free.
Class size is limited to the first 20 registrants. To sign up or for more information, contact Samaritan Counseling Center at (269) 926-6199 or at www.samcounseling.org or visit it on Facebook: Samaritan Counseling Center — SW Michigan.
