Body found in Indian Lake, victim identified

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department reported that the body of a male victim who drowned in Indian Lake was recovered at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim, Sean Stewart, 26, of Baltimore, Md., was swimming off the rear of a speed boat with some friends on Saturday, Aug. 27, at approximately 2:00 a.m. when it was noticed that he was missing.
A search for the victim was started immediately and continued until suspended due to darkness on Saturday.
The search began again Sunday until the victim’s body was recovered.
An autopsy was ordered by the Cass County Medical Examiner and the incident remains under investigation.
Assisting the Cass County Marine Division and Dive Team were Berrien County and Van Buren County Marine Division and dive teams, Indian and Sister Lakes fire departments, Pridecare Ambulance Service and Memorial Medflight out of South Bend.
