What’s on Tuesday’s ballot

The polls will be open for primary elections on Tuesday, when votes will be tallied for several key seats in the area, including Mayor of Niles and Bertrand Township Supervisor.

Below, a list of what voters can expect to see on Tuesday’s ballot.

What’s on the ballot?
• City of Niles Mayor (4-year term)
— Bruce Leach — Former city fire marshal
— Mike McCauslin — three-term incumbent
— W. Tim Skalla — 4th Ward city council member
— Michael Squier II — Write-in candidate, substitute teacher

The two leading vote getters will advance to the November election

• Bertrand Township Supervisor (partial term, ending Nov. 2012)
— Matthew Remmo — school teacher, Bertrand Township firefighter
— Scott Bonner — owner of local real estate 
appraisal firm
— Earl Lintz — retired trucker

• Bertrand Township Trustee (partial term, ending Nov. 2012)
— Alice Kring — owner of an insurance agency in Buchanan
— Anna Norton — retail business manager

— Ward/Precinct 1 — Niles High School, 1441 Eagle
— Ward/Precinct 2 — Niles High School, 1441 Eagle
— Ward/Precinct 3 — Niles Fire Station, 1345 E. Main
— Ward/Precinct 4 — Westside School, 111 Spruce

Bertrand Township
— Bertrand Township Hall, 3835 Buffalo Road

November 8
