Shoumake signing books Aug. 13

Local author Bill Shoumake has released the second volume of his encyclopedia on Niles High School football titled “My Friday Night Heroes: Niles High School Pigskin Autumns.”

The second volume looks at the history of the program from 1949 to 2001.

The first volume chronicled 1894 to 1948. Volume two is 905 pages, weighs 4.75 pounds and includes more than 1,000 photos and illustrations.

Shoumake said it took him and his wife 14 years to complete the project.

He will be signing copies at Casperson’s Books in Niles Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. Until 1 p.m.
