Foster families, children invited to free event at Life Action Camp

Life Action Ministries is hosting a Foster Family Fun Day Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1696 East Clear Lake Rd. in Buchanan. Families with foster children and adopted children are invited to attend this free event at the Life Action Camp.

Life Action Ministries has donated money toward supporting children’s homes, but last year it realized there were kids in Berrien County that needed their help as well. This revelation sparked the organization of a free day of fun for all of those people who are involved in fostering and adopting children and young adults.

There will be fun and games for children of all ages, including a rock climbing wall, inflatables, boating, tubing, canoeing and a water catapult affectionately named the “Blob.”

There will also be face painters, McGruff the Crime Dog, Sarett Nature Center and the fire department with its fire trucks.

Participants will be served a barbecue lunch at 12:30 p.m.

The kids will walk away with full bellies and smiles on their faces,” said Peter Pappas, Road Team Services Director for Life Action Ministries.

Pappas said that for those who are not interested or unable to foster or adopt a child, there are volunteer opportunities available.
