Legends Performing Arts Association (LPAA) will host the Four Flags Drum Corps Spectacular at 7 p.m. Friday, July 29 at the Niles High School stadium.

“I was looking for another location to host an event,” said Ibe Sodawalla, executive director and CEO of the LPAA. “We had two specific dates to work with and with the assistance of Steve Gruver, director of bands at Niles High School, we knew we could make the event come alive.”

The Drum Corps Spectacular is the newest addition of events sponsored by LPAA from Kalamazoo.

There will be seven corps performing in the competition including, Legends of Kalamazoo, Oregon Crusaders of Portland, Ore.; Genesis of Edinburg, Texas; Forte of Grand Prairie, Texas; Blue Saints of Sudbury, Ontario; Les Stentors of Sherbrooke, Quebec; and Vanguard Cadets of Santa Clara, Calif.

“Each drum corps comes with its own production, so you’ll see a lot of variety,” Sodawalla said.

“You’ll see over 500 passionate kids, 15 to 21, who put on one of the most refined musical marching products that you’ve ever seen,” he added. “It’s a series of brass, drum, percussion, color guard choreography and dance.”

Tickets are $12 pre-sale and $17 at the gate. They can be purchased at www.legendspaa.org/niles or by calling (269) 815-8849.

All tickets are general admission. The pre-sale ticket purchase ends Tuesday, July 26.

“We are looking forward to having a lot of people come out and learn more about drum corps,” Sodawalla said.

LPAA is also hosting the Drum Corps in the Village on Saturday, July 30 in Paw Paw and the Legends Drum Corps Preview on Sunday, July 31 in Battle Creek.
