Dear editor:

I was shocked and saddened to read that Leader Publications columnist Larry Lyons has passed away.  I and many others in the community will miss Larry’s wealth of knowledge regarding the natural world. He was well-liked and respected by the Cass County Audubon Society (of which I am a member), by staff at local nature centers and area land conservancies. Larry certainly contributed a positive, lasting impact, particularly in our little corner of the natural world. My thoughts are with his family.
