Mrs. June Parker, 76, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Dowagiac, went to Glory on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.

She was born June 11, 1934, to Edward and Mae (Farrow) Roberts in Dowagiac.

She moved to Kalamazoo and attended Western Michigan University.

June was a retired school teacher and a faithful member of Christian Life Center in Kalamazoo.

She loved creating art and working with special needs children.

She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Parker, and her grandson, Shawn R. Parker.

June is survived by: one sister, Jacquelyn Mitchell; seven children, Jerry L. Parker, Alycia (Chris) Woods, Judith R. Parker, James L. Parker, Angela R. Parker, Jule L.D. Parker and Jon D. (Raquel) Parker.

Also, 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren, who all loved her very much.

A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, April 19, with an 11 a.m. Family Hour at Christian Life Center, Pastor Joel A. Brooks, officiating.

Interment will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Riverside Cemetery, in Dowagiac
