Paul Thomas Stout, 62, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at his home. He laid down for an afternoon nap and his death was unexpected.
Tom was born June 23, 1948 in Elkhart, the son of Dean W. and Helen (Krichbaum) Stout, and had lived in Edwardsburg most of his life. He was a welder for steel fabrication and construction.
Tom loved to be a cowboy, riding bull and broncos. He loved to work in his garage on hobbies. He enjoyed his family and listening to music, especially country gospel.
Tom was married June 23, 2001 in Union to Sandra Neddeau Schieber, who survives with his son, Kevin O’Brien of Mishawaka. Other survivors are his five stepchildren, Merrie Hatton of Elkhart, Cindy (Ron) VanDePutte of Walkerton, Ind., Deborah (Gary) Thompson of Elkhart, David Schieber of Walkerton and Edward (Kelly) Schieber of Cassopolis; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Helen Stout-Andries of Edwardsburg; and three siblings Deborah (David) Dudding of Elkhart, Mike Stout of Elkhart and Neal (Vicki) Stout of Osceola, Ind.
His father, Jean Stout, preceded him in death.
There was a gathering of family and friends at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2284, 69946 M-62 South, Edwardsburg on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 from 3 to 5 p.m. A service of remembrance was held at 5 p.m.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
