Martha Ann Whitesell, 77, of Cassopolis, formerly of Dowagiac and Niles, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis.

She was born March 14, 1933 in Pokagon Township to Amos and Carrie (VonArsdall) Phillips.  She was preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers.

She was a pattern folder for Simplicity Pattern Co.

Martha Ann is survived by one daughter, Paula Powers of Fort Myers, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Christine Northrup of Jones; three grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) West of Cassopolis, Adam Papoi of Niles and John Papoi of Flint; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Cass County Medical Care Facility, 23770 Hospital Street, Cassopolis, MI 49031.
