Members of the Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary recently held their annual meeting at Round Oak Restaurant. New Auxiliary officers elected for the upcoming year include: Barb Moses, president; Nancy McKay, vice president; Ann Biek, secretary; and Marge Kirsch, treasurer.

In addition to enjoying food and fellowship, Joy Strand, administrator and chief operating officer, gave an overview of the latest hospital events and goals, and thanked members for their valued donation of time and work on various fundraising efforts.

Over the past year, the Auxiliary funded the purchase of three pulse oximeters for the cardiopulmonary department, an intravenous (IV) vein light source, a lounger for outpatient surgery patients and a television for the special care unit (SCU)/surgery waiting room.

“This vital group runs our gift shop, holds bake sales throughout the year and coordinates an annual health care student scholarship. They also help patients in registration and oncology,” Strand said. “We are grateful for the Auxiliary for its commitment to the long-term welfare of Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.”

Along with Strand’s presentation, Brad Yazel of Yazel-Clark Chapel spoke about the development and related programs of the newly established ACTION Ministry Center, 301 Main St.
