Sharyl R. Chappell

Sharyl’s life began on Dec. 20, 1954, in Niles, the daughter of Jack and Connie (Johnson) Chappell.

Sharyl, 55, of Dowagiac, was an avid reader, especially Stephen King novels, and loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sharyl was a member of Cass County Post 1855 VFW and the Dowagiac Eagles.

She was extremely patriotic and loved her country.

Her loving family includes: her children, Melissa (Roger) Ross of Dowagiac, Joshua ( Stephanie) Bailey of Hammond, Ind., Rebecca (Joseph) Swetay of Cassopolis and Jessica (Jeremy Liggett) First of Niles; grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Dillen, Jacob, Karissa, Seth, Gage and Haydyn; sisters, Glenna (Kenneth) Westfall of Three Rivers and Jackie (Ed) Goodman of Dowagiac.

Sharyl passed away on Saturday Sept. 11, 2010, at her home.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Chappell.

Her family will gather with friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Pastor Merrill Johnson.

She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
