EDWARDSBURG – The visiting Buchanan tennis team took three out of four singles flights to defeat Edwardsburg 5-3 in a Lakeland Conference showdown on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bucks got wins from Nate Henckel, Derek Blank and Josh Whitfield in singles competition.

Buchanan split the doubles flights, winning at No. 1 with Ryan Henckel and Jake Welsh, as well as at No. 2 with Corey Thompson and Alex Kuhn.

The Eddies’ lone singles victory came at No. 4 with Tanner Woods.

Winning doubles flights for Edwardsburg were Doug Kessler and Jared Holts at No. 3, along with Derek Scott and Trent Baker at No. 4.

Brandywine at Coloma

COLOMA — The Brandywine tennis team squared its Lakeland Conference record at 1-1 with an 8-0 victory over host Coloma on Wednesday.

The Bobcats are now 1-3 overall, while Coloma falls to 0-2 overall and in conference play.

Jake Fiero, Buck Bourdon, Michael Robbins and Kyle Duncan were all winners in singles competition. Duncan picked up a forfeit at No. 4 singles.

Brandywine’s doubles teams of Josh Boger and Brad Millin; Tyler Hartman and Colt Ditto; Nick Wright and Stuart Pearman; and Jordan Harper and Jordan Miller were also victorious, losing just five games in the doubles flights.
