The Timbers of Cass County, a new state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility, celebrates its grand opening this Friday, July 16, from 2 to 7 p.m.
The public is invited to tour the center and to enjoy entertainment by Dowagiac Union High School Choir and harpist Elizabeth Carpenter.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 4 p.m. with local and state dignitaries in attendance.
The facility is located at 55432 Colby St., Dowagiac.
The new center features an architecturally pleasing “Lodge Design” complete with stone finishes and timbers incorporated throughout the exterior.
The entire center has been carefully designed with resident comfort and luxury in mind.
The Timbers of Cass County offers elegant and spacious room accommodations that include 20 private rooms and 44 shared accommodations for a total occupancy of 108.
Along with four different resident room options, the center has two dining rooms, three therapy rooms, two day rooms, resident library, beautifully landscaped courtyard and an impressive main entrance, all tastefully appointed to lend a home-like atmosphere.
According to Doug Wamack, administrator, “We see The Timbers as an exciting addition to the continuum of health care alternatives throughout southwest Michigan. “We have received overwhelming support and interest from the community and we believe our new center will set the standard for future senior living communities.”
