Join the Dowagiac Dogwood Fine Arts Festival for a free youth vocal concert Friday, July 9.
The festival is proud to host its fourth annual Middle School Summer Choral Camp July 6-9 at Southwestern Michigan College.
The camp is designed to encourage and promote the art of choral music through daily rehearsals and enrichment classes in basic musicianship and vocal techniques.
Students have been selected from applications and auditions from area students across southwest Michigan.
The camp is facilitated by members of the Dogwood Chorale under the direction of Dave Carew.
The week-long workshop will culminate with a free public concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 9, at the Middle School Performing Arts Center.
The Dogwood Fine Arts Festival Middle School Choral Camp is made possible through the generosity of the St. Denys Foundation, SMC, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and area student scholarship sponsors.
