CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Road Commission has been notified by MDOT, the Michigan Department of Transportation, that it will be reconstructing M-60 in the low spot just west of town.

This area frequently has water over the road.

MDOT will close M-60 from early August through Oct. 1 while excavating a deep peat layer and reconstructing the road.

The detour will use Hospital Street to M-62, then back to M-60.

In preparation for the detour, MDOT will be resurfacing Hospital Street from Mullen Road to M-62 and putting a temporary four-way stop at Hospital and M-62.
