Brandywine fourth-grader sweeps Princess Scholarship Program

The 2010 Southwest Michigan’s Princess Scholarship Program was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Watervliet High School Auditorium before an audience of 150.
Jora Gayle Barnes, the 9-year-old daughter of Laurie Barnes and the late RJ Barnes, of Niles, is the new 2010 Southwest Michigan’s Princess. The fourth-grader of Brandywine Elementary swept the program in scholarships as she was awarded the Talent Award, Modeling Award, Recommendation Award, People’s Choice Award and Salute Ad Award, totaling $450 in scholarships.
First runner up is Abigail Bocock, the 6-year-old daughter of Brian and Beth Bocock, of South Haven. Abigail also received the Ticket Sale Award, which brought her Scholarship winnings to $200.
Second runner up is Natalie Michelle Knight, the 7-year-old daughter of Eric and Heidi Knight of Hartford. Natalie received a $50 scholarship.
Photogenic Award went to Elisha Lea Jorgensen the 7-year-old daughter of Tim and Paula Jorgensen, of Eau Claire.
Other recognized contestants are Riley Nicole Bailey, of Bridgman, Victoria Maeve Dixon of St. Joseph, Jessica Christine Gearhart, of Watervliet, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Hobbs, of Watervliet, Marissa Michele Mather, of Edwardsburg and Kimberly Blaine Spaulding, of Coloma.
The 2010 Southwest Michigan’s Pre-teen Scholarship Program was also held Saturday at 7 p.m. at Watervliet High School Auditorium before an audience of 250. Ashley Kathryn Weber, the 12-year-old daughter of Troy and Lauri Weber, of Stevensville is the 2010 Southwest Michigan’s Pre-Teen. The seventh-grader of Lakeshore Middle School also received the Talent Award. Her scholarships totaled $550.
First runner up is Dominique Lynn LeClear, the 12-year-old daughter of Doug and Marsi LeClear, of Benton Harbor.
Dominique also received the Modeling Award totaling her scholarships to $150.
Second runner up is Katelyn Mariann Boyer, the 10-year-old daughter of Timothy and Tamara Boyer, of Edwardsburg. Katelyn also received the Photogenic Award, totaling her Scholarships to $100.
Third runner up is Taylor Anne Zehner, the 11-year-old daughter of Brandi McComb and Jeff Zehner, of Watervliet. Taylor received $50 in Scholarships.
Fourth runner up is Ashley Roseann Fogarty, the 12-year-old daughter of Thomas Jr. and Laura Fogarty, of Covert. Ashley received a $50 scholarship.
The Speech Award recipient was Jessica Nicole Terris, the 12-year-old daughter of James and Felecia Terris, of St. Joseph. She received a $50 scholarship.
The Ticket Sales Award and People Choice Award went to Julia Elizabeth Sternaman, the 10-year-old daughter of John and Kim Sternaman, of Benton Harbor. Julia received $100 in scholarships.
The Salute Ad Award went to Rana Karri Holmes, the 11-year-old daughter of John and Anja Holmes, of Benton Harbor. She received $100 in scholarships.
Paige Alyce Zielinski received the Recruitment Award. She is the 11-year-old daughter of Cliff and Cindy Zielinski, of St. Joseph.

Ann Hammond, of Dowagiac, Stacey Lynn Horstmann, of Cassopolis, Elizabeth Ann Jorgensen, of Eau Claire, Makenna Marie Kelly, of Coloma, Brittany Hope Kuemin, of Niles and Mallory Leedy Spaulding, of Coloma.
