Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that on April 8 at 3:15 p.m. his department investigated a scam complaint.
A subject from the National Health Line called a citizen of Marcellus telling them how they are issuing cards to people that have all their personal information on it. This has to do with the new Health Care Bill. The card is suppose to make the process at the doctor’s office go faster. The person had all of her information, but then wanted her bank account and routing number.
He hung up immediately when she would not give this information to him.
People should be aware that this scam is going on and do not give out your information over the phone or Internet to anyone calling from the National Health Line.
