Dear editor:

Wow, what a ride it has been over the past five months of coaching the Brandywine Varsity Girls’ Basketball team.

On behalf of the entire Lady Cats Program I would like to say thank you to all of the wonderful fans, businesses, police and firemen and parents who supported the girls throughout the season. It was amazing to see the thousands of fans who packed the stands every night during the state tournament to cheer on our girls. Whether it was Bridgman, Schoolcraft, Vicksburg or Michigan State University, the Bobcat faithful outnumbered every school we played by large quantities. The girls constantly talked about how every contest felt like a home game because of how many fans were there to cheer them on. I would also like to give a special thanks to the police force and firemen who gave the girls an escort through the town before and after the quarterfinal win as this is something the girls will never forget.

The girls worked very hard the entire year and deserved all of the successes that they endured. They would also agree that what made each victory even more special was hearing the Brandywine fans rise to their feet and cheer on the Lady Cats to another championship.

Thank you to everyone that supported our girls and program throughout the year. Go Cats!
