The Berrien County Office of the Sheriff released the Niles Township stat sheet for the month of January. Here are the statistics for the township:
• 297 complaints worked
•  49 tickets issued
• 37 arrests

• 274 tickets issued
• 148 arrests

Voting grant
The Niles Township board elected Monday to pursue a federal grant that would provide one laptop per voting precinct to serve as an electronic poll book. The laptops would come at no cost to the township via the Help America Vote Act.
