Since launching its “Mittens for Michigan” campaign, Chemical Bank has collected 12,576 new and gently used mittens, gloves, hats, coats and scarves for needy Michigan individuals and families.  Donations were collected between November 2009 and February 2010 in Chemical Bank offices across the state.

“We’re extremely proud of the campaign’s success and the support that our customers and communities provided to help those who were experiencing difficult times in the communities we serve,” said Chemical Bank Chairman, CEO and President David B. Ramaker.

“Mittens for Michigan” inspired many individuals, businesses, schools and employees to get involved and help warm hands and hearts across the state. Many customers, community organizations and employees also contributed with handmade and purchased items.
Through a partnership with the local United Way and other charitable organizations across the state, Chemical Bank was able to distribute the items throughout the duration of the campaign.

“Our ‘Mittens’ campaign reinforced our desire to support the communities we serve while providing warmth for those who were experiencing difficult times,” said Ramaker. “We are extremely delighted to have collected and distributed over 12,000 donations and are thankful to our customers, employees and our communities for their generosity.”

Chemical Bank is excited to have surpassed last year’s total of 10,895 donations and looks forward to promoting the campaign again later this fall.
