Officials complete training

A variety of local officials have completed the Michigan State University Extension Citizen Planner course. “Fundamentals of Planning and Zoning” was offered as a seven-session series to provide community leaders the latest technical knowledge and information needed to perform their duties effectively and responsibly.
Participants included: James Gast, Patricia Heyn and Gaylord Rochefort representing Lake Charter Township; Gladys Bybee, Richard Cooper, Charles Durm, Margaret Hartman, John McNelis, Dave Spurlock and Stefanie Woodrick representing Niles Charter Township; Thomas Swartz from the Cass County Planning Commission; Tony Hemenway from the Van Buren County Planning Commission; Bill Weimer and Zylphia Marie Weimer from the City of Niles; William Hodge of the Berrien County Planning Commission; and Delores Batchelder, Daniel Coffey, Jim Daubert and Harold White from New Buffalo Township.
