Salvation Army has kids’ backpacks
Published 10:27 am Friday, July 31, 2009
It is time for the annual Back to School BackPack distribution through the Salvation Army.
The backpacks are for school children in grades first through 12th, who are residents of Niles, Buchanan or Cass County.
Included are age-appropriate materials such as notebook paper, pens, pencils, crayons, glue, erasers, folders, spiral notebooks, etc.
The backpacks are being given away through the generous donations of people in the community. They hope to lessen the burden on parents who are getting their children ready for a new school year.
To participate, you are invited to walk-in Monday through Friday through Aug. 12 to register your children between 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 4 p.m. Supplies are limited.
Please show an ID for the custodial parent or guardian, Social Security cars for the children and proof for the school the children will attend.
You will be given a time and date to pick the backpacks up.
