CASSOPOLIS – The following activities are scheduled the Cass County Council on Aging in July:
July 1, Wednesday: Internet Genealogy. Get hands-on training in how to research family trees, origins, history, ancestry, census records, birth/death records, and much more. Space is limited for this free class; advance registration is required.9 a.m. – Noon
July 1, Wednesday: Low Vision Support Group. Learn from and share with others who are living with low vision. 1-3 p.m.
July 1 and 15, Wednesdays: Hot Breakfast. A variety of breakfast favorites are available to suit any taste, including eggs, any style, breakfast meat, potatoes, toast, juice, and coffee. Continental breakfast served daily, 7:30 to 10 a.m.
July 2, Thursday: Medication Drop-off. Bring in unused, expired, or unwanted medications for proper disposal from 10 a.m. to noon.
Medications must be in their original containers and signed in when dropped off.
July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, Thursdays: Any Body Conditioning Class. Work on strength and toning using free weights with instructor Ron Christopher. 6 p.m.
July 3 and 4, Friday and Saturday: COA closed for Independence Day.
July 7, 14, 21 and 28, Tuesdays: Chess and Euchre Clubs. Get together with friends for these two popular games. Chess 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Euchre 1-3 p.m.
July 10, Friday: Grand Festival. Grandparents and grandchildren can spend a day together enjoying arts and crafts, games, hayrides, and a petting zoo. Ronald McDonald will entertain at about 4 p.m. prior to a cookout dinner. The free activities start at 2 p.m.
July 16, Thursday: Lunchtime Little Theater.
Bob Holderbaum will play banjo and guitar starting at noon in the dining room.
Entertainment is free; lunch may be purchased for about $5.
