The Chieftains had to fight tooth and nail to pull out the final conference match of the season.
Four flights were decided in a third set, while Dowagiac didn't shut out the Lady Trojans at any flight.
But in the end, a win is a win and the Chieftains will take it heading into Saturday's conference tournament at Allegan, Plainwell and Otsego high schools.
