KALAMAZOO – The Niles varsity tennis team swept the doubles flights to defeat host Kalamazoo Central in a Big 16 Conference crossover match 6-2.
Niles' two singles victories were Rachael Horn at No. 2 and Lauren Girvin at No. 4.
Kalamazoo Central picked up a win at No. 3 singles due to an injury default.
Horn defeated Ashley Moorehead 6-0 and 6-0, while Girvin defeated Chloe Bielby 6-4 and 6-2.
In doubles play, Sara Stenstrom and Ali Landgraf defeated Cindy Lee and Shelby Simmons 6-3 and 6-3; April Lee and Katie Bourbonnais defeated Dani Rowland and Molly Boheme 6-4 and 6-3; Patty Anton and Meg Hein defeated Chloe Rickstad and Perla Ascencio 7-6 and 6-1; and Danielle Rothfuchs and Rachel Uwase defeated Tavia Pipkins and Chrissy Portera 6-4 and 6-0.
Niles also won the junior varsity match 6-2.
The Lady Vikings will host a crossover match beginning at 4:30 p.m. today.
