BRIDGMAN – The Lakeland Conference golf season got under way on Wednesday with a preseason jamboree hosted by Bridgman at Clearbook.
Edwardsburg took top honors as it shot 176 as a team to finish six strokes ahead of runner-up Coloma, which shot 182.
Host Bridgman took third with a 187, while Cassopolis was fourth with a 191, Brandywine fifth with a 194, Berrien Springs sixth with a 195, Buchanan seventh with a 200 and River Valley eighth with a 234.
Jarrod Hauch of Coloma earned medalist honors with a round of 41.
Edwardsburg was led by Cameron Barber's 42. Chris Eaton shoot 44 for the Eddies, who also got a pair of 45s from Brody Baucus and Dominic Razzano.
Blaise Suseland led the Rangers with a 45. Kim Vaughn shot 47 and Aaron Goodrich 48. Cass also got a 51 from Landon Wright and a 56 from Chris Coates.
Dillon Bailey paced Brandywine with a 44. Zach Rose finished with a 46 and Nathan Balent a 51. Tyler Hill and Jason Andrews shot 53 and 60 respectively.
Buchanan was led by Derek Blank's 48. Josh Whitfield shot a 49 and Jeff Jerue a 51. The Bucks also had a 52 from Brent Brown and a 70 from Zack Devereaux.
